pinkytheent I was able to see Earth the night before I added this to my wishlist, and was just floored by the soaring, crystalline, jangly Western tone that Dylan accomplishes. Every note blooms with color. He has now been entered into my Pantheon of Tone Idols. But it takes two to tango, and Adrienne is truly the foundation of the foundation on those beautiful, swaying, contemplative, wave-like drums, holding us down to the shifting of stones over eons. No one else sounds like Earth. Favorite track: The Colour of Poison.

H It has cats, blues, one of the greatest slow drummers and heroin sound to it. What more do you need? Favorite track: Cats on the Briar.

Lichen Not quite in the same country drone style I've craved since finding The Bees Made Honey In The Lion's Skull and that culminated in the epic Angels Of Darkness, Demons Of Light I & II but if you enjoy Earth then Full Upon Her Burning Lips is a great ride that's also left me excited to hear what their next album will be like. Favorite track: Datura's Crimson Veils.

When I first discovered this album in 2008 it opened up a whole new soundscape to me. It was really something else. The slow pace and the repetitive melodic patterns drew me in completely. It hasn't lost any of its magic during the years. rowsu
